Our Story
Prepare started with a simple question: what if the thing students love most could also be the thing that keeps them in school?
Why we exist
In Norway, a significant number of students — especially in upper secondary — disengage from school before finishing. Traditional classroom methods don't reach everyone. Prepare is built on the insight that gaming, when used intentionally, can be a powerful alternative path to the same learning goals.
Video games are not the enemy of education. They are, in many ways, a model of it: constant feedback loops, intrinsic motivation, clear objectives, and a culture of improvement. We take those principles and bring them into the school day — legally, pedagogically, and effectively.
Our sessions are designed alongside teachers to fit into the Norwegian school framework. Every game used in a Prepare session is tied to documented kompetansemål — so this isn't just fun, it's curriculum.
To reduce school dropout by creating engaging, game-based learning environments that respect students' interests while meeting the Norwegian curriculum's standards.
A Norway where no student is left behind — where the skills and passions students already have are recognized as a foundation to build on, not a distraction to fight.
In Practice
We partner with schools to run structured game sessions as an alternative to traditional classes.
We work directly with schools and teachers to integrate Prepare into the existing schedule — no disruption to the overall plan.
Sessions use a hand-picked selection of games, each chosen for the specific skills they develop and their alignment to curriculum goals.
Facilitators document skill development during sessions, giving teachers and students tangible evidence of progress.
We collect data, gather feedback, and iterate — always improving the program to better serve students and teachers.
